Where the Spring Peeper Frog Can Be Found
The Spring Peeper frog is native to eastern America and Canada and can be found in temperate forests with wooded areas and grassy lowlands, near swamps and ponds. Living near a water source is crucial for the Peeper frog's survival because this is where it transforms from a tadpole to a frog and where the female frogs lay their eggs. After the Peeper frog emerges from the water as a fully developed frog, it burrows beneath leaves, soil, and tree bark to hide from predators. Because of the Spring Peeper's extremely small size and well camouflaged skin, very few people are fortunate enough to see this frog in their lifetime.
